New gender swap anime began airing in October 2014. ^_^
Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu (I Will Become a Twintail) is similar in theme to Kampfer, and perhaps to a lesser extent Birdy the Mighty in that it is about a highschool boy who gets transformed into a “magical girl”. Very similar to Kampfer in that the gender transformation is done through magical bracelet.
Sōji Mitsuka is a highschool boy with an unnatural obsession with “twintails”, perhaps better known as pigtails. One day he is approached by a large breasted woman asking if he truely loves twintails. She then gives him a magical bracelet, without telling him what it does, and then teleports him and his twintail friend to a location 20 miles away. There he finds one of the school seniors who he knows for having twintails but they have vanished and she has no recollection of ever having them! The large breasted woman explains that unless they stop the monsters below there will be no twintails left in the world. To stop them, Soji must wish upon the bracelet and he would be given a magical suit called Tail Gear to help defeat them.
To his surprise it also turns him into a redheaded girl! After the initial shock wore off he named himself/herself Tail Red.
I’m looking forward to seeing how this anime plays out. It doesn’t take itself too seriously (would be a difficult concept to pass off otherwise!) and is good fun. ^_^ Enjoy.
